Flora & Fauna of Panna Tiger Reserve
Panna Tiger Reserve is rich in both plant and animal life. The forest here is mostly dry deciduous, with many trees such as teak, bamboo, tendu, and mahua. Along the Ken River, you’ll also see grassy patches, bushes, and riverbank plants, which add to the greenery of the area.
The forest environment is perfect for herbivores, and it also attracts birds, butterflies, and insects. While Panna is known mainly for its tigers, you might also see leopards, sloth bears, nilgai, chinkaras, sambar deer, and even wild dogs during your visit.
Reptiles like snakes and crocodiles are often spotted near rivers and streams. The reserve is also a haven for birdwatchers, with more than 200 bird species recorded here, including vultures, kingfishers, eagles, and the Indian paradise flycatcher.
Thanks to its mix of forest, water sources, and open spaces, Panna provides a perfect home for many kinds of wildlife.
