The “City of Lakes” itself, Bhopal is the only city where the Begums ruled for over a century. The city is divided by a pair of lakes. Here, one part is New Bhopal (towards the south) filled with malls and multiplexes and everything modern you can imagine in a city and another part is Old Bhopal towards the north still holding its rich values and culture. It is India’s one of greenest cities thanks to its various natural and manmade lakes. The ancient rock paintings of the Paleolithic era in Bhimbetka Caves are the main attraction here.
